Our cooperations

HGE students and graduates will directly benefit from the diversity of existing institutional cooperation structures.

The sponsor of the HGE, the Academy of Health Berlin/Brandenburg eV (AdG), generates proven added value for the health care system in the state of Brandenburg through closely integrated networking with its long-standing member and cooperation partners . This tradition is followed by both the HGE mission statement and the motto chosen by the university, "Impulse for Brandenburg". The HGE enters into cooperations with universities, research institutions, clinics, rehabilitation centers, practices and small and medium-sized companies in the region to ensure the practical study components and to further develop research and teaching. With regard to possible further training offers, regional needs from the member companies and cooperation partners in particular are initially taken up and integrated into corresponding further training and study offers and later expanded to include supra-regional needs. The health industry practice partners of the HGE iG represent the various settings of patient care (outpatient, day-care and inpatient acute and long-term care, rehabilitative care). Cross-sector networking ensures that innovations can be directly incorporated into the care process and sustained and further developed together with practice partners. Embedded in this context, the HGE will be able to contribute to better integration of the care systems in order to not only increase patient safety but also improve the quality of care at the interfaces in and between the care systems. HGE students and graduates will benefit directly from the diversity of existing institutional cooperation structures. The cooperating Brandenburg health care facilities can be confident that they will be able to recruit some of their urgently needed young specialists from the pool of HGE students outside of the Berlin metropolitan region in the future and will accordingly provide suitable opportunities for the practical study phases.

Learning location cooperation

The cooperation between the learning locations plays a key role in the integration of the three learning locations. The university concludes cooperation agreements with all cooperating institutions for the practical placements integrated into the course of study. A common concept (cooperative curriculum) for the practical study phases across all institutions ensures the quality of the training and enables an increase in the efficiency of the training process.
A regular exchange organized by the university takes place in the context of educational dialogues and practical instruction conferences. These ensure the targeted coordination of teaching and learning content and support the students' transfer learning. The results are reflected in the university's practical curriculum.

The educational dialogue enables the development of needs-based courses of study right from the start. This takes place in the context of regular conferences with cooperation partners. Further exchange of information and ongoing needs assessment will also take place in the context of departmental dialogues and symposia that the HGE will hold regularly. During their training, the different professions will not only be brought into dialogue with one another, but above all into joint, practical action.

International cooperation

Through cooperation with project sponsors of the Erasmus+ funding program for education, youth and sport of the European Union, the HGE will be able to promote student mobility of students as well as its own staff.

The international cooperations of the HGE follow, among other things, the strategy of enabling students from Asia to receive a university education in a health profession so that additional specialist staff can be recruited for the state of Brandenburg. Through the 'Concerted Action Care' initiated by the Federal Ministry of Health in 2019, nursing staff from abroad can be specifically recruited for Brandenburg and qualified by the HGE.

Building on the intensive cooperation relationships that the AdG sponsoring association has maintained for several years with universities in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Vienna, the HGE intends to develop into an attractive study and research location that will also become a point of contact for international students. Further international cooperation relationships are currently being planned and coordinated and are aimed at joint participation in teaching, research and transfer projects in the interests of improved healthcare.
