  • University entrance qualification according to § 10 Brandenburg University Act (BbgHG)
  • Binding commitment from a responsible practice facility in accordance with Section 7 PflBG for a contract for the practical part of the university nursing training or in accordance with Section 15 HebG for the practical part of the academic midwife training
  • Proof that the applicant has not been guilty of any conduct that would render him or her unreliable for the exercise of the profession (certificate of good conduct)
  • current proof that the applicant is not unfit to perform the profession for health reasons (medical certificate)

The bachelor’s degree at the HGE lasts 3.5 years (7 semesters).

There are currently the Nursing B.Sc. and Midwifery B.Sc. degree programs.

The tuition fees are 490 euros per month. On our “ Financing ” page you will find the options for state support as well as the options for private financing. There is also the possibility that the provider of the practical study components will cover the study costs in addition to the training remuneration. Attendance at lectures and seminars is compulsory. This is recorded using attendance lists.

Successful completion of the course confers the academic degree of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). Passing the course is a prerequisite for being granted permission to use the professional title of “midwife” or “nurse”.

The HGE is a private, state-recognized university under the non-profit sponsorship of the Academy of Health Berlin/Brandenburg eV. The courses are accredited, but are not refinanced by the state. For this reason, we have to charge fees for the course. In our dual study model, these fees are usually paid by the company offering the internship. Dual study course in midwifery, B.Sc.

Comprehensive practical study phases, supervised and guided by the university, prepare you for the diverse spectrum of the relevant target groups and settings. You will gain a wide range of application-oriented knowledge in the field of midwifery in an interdisciplinary context, based on scientific findings and methods. Issues relevant to midwifery will be identified and dealt with. You will acquire the professional, personal and practical skills to care for women and their families independently and responsibly. In addition, you will learn sound analysis, reflection and problem-solving skills so that you can clearly communicate and prove results.

Prospective students who have already completed a midwife training course under the old legal system have the opportunity to supplement their previous training at a university. A flat-rate crediting procedure is used to determine which modules of the full-time course are to be attended part-time within 7 semesters.

The theoretical study phases (lectures) take place during the usual lecture periods between October and January (winter semester) and between April and June (summer semester) at the HGE in Eberswalde.
The practical study phases are usually carried out at the responsible practical institution between January and March (winter semester) and between July and September (summer semester).

Dual study program in nursing, B.Sc.

Comprehensive practical study phases, supervised and guided by the university, prepare you for the diverse spectrum of the relevant target groups and settings. You will acquire a wide range of application-oriented knowledge in the field of nursing in an interdisciplinary context, based on scientific findings and methods. Nursing-related issues will be identified and dealt with. You will acquire the professional, personal and practical skills to care for those in need of care independently and responsibly. In addition, you will learn sound analysis, reflection and problem-solving skills so that you can clearly communicate and prove results.

Prospective students who have already completed a nursing training course under the old law have the opportunity to supplement their already completed training at a university. In accordance with Section 38 Paragraph 5 of the Nursing Professions Act (PflBG), a flat-rate crediting procedure is used to determine which modules of the full-time course are to be attended part-time within 7 semesters.
